Bill Glass received his PhD in Spanish with a Certificate of Advanced Study in SLATE (Second Language Acquisition and Teacher Edcuation) in 1992. He is currently Publisher of the World Languages and Health & Human Performance divisions of the McGraw-Hill Higher Education Group. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Bill is also the co-author of several Spanish language textbooks. He was awarded the Corporate Achievement Award for Editorial Excellence in 2005, along with the First Edition of the Year Award for the publication of Sol y viento: Beginning Spanish. Bill's success is a wonderful response to students' question: What else can I do with a PhD?

Donations received from alumni and friends are used to further the department's education mission: to prepare undergraduate and graduates for their professional futures. We have several scholarships and fellowships and some honorary awards.
These days, with state funding at an historically low ebb, we are relying increasingly on the generosity of our alumni and friends to sustain and expand such scholarships and awards. We thank you in advance for your support.
